Joe Apsey / June 22, 2021. A brand new PS4 firmware update in the form of update 8.52 is now available to download onto your system, but the key question is what does this 481 MB update do? PS4 System Software 6.72 released. This system software update improves system performance. This is what you came here for. And also for this. And for this too. You might also need this. So I turned my PS4 last night after Netflix and this morning it wouldn't turn on. I kept getting the message 'connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 6.72 or later. You can download the file for reinstallation from playstation.com'. Sounds like your HDD may have crapped out or been corrupted. |

It's an original release so it's had it's run but I was trying to make it last until the PS5 release. I know there are fixes but who knows how long I can keep this thing running until the next break down. I may be getting a pro after all. I may be getting a pro after all. well they use cheap 3rd party HDD, all that installing/uninstalling games is gonna kill them fast |
You could buy a new internal HDD and see if it solves anything. It'd be far cheaper than buying a new console. |

Ps4 Update Download
Hey everyone! I'm new to this Sub and really could use some help. My PS4 recently underwent a Disk Reader and HDMI Port repair and since I've got it back it just continues to install System Software: Version 7.55, completely the install, restarts my PS4 then starts installing the same update. I've tried canceling the update, pausing, everything I can think of (which granted isn't a lot) so I would really love some feedback and help. Also side note, for some reason when I open games my PS4 over heats without actually heating up, I don't know if that could help explain the problem or not. Best regards, Conner
