Growing in the City

Excerpted from the City of Victoria’s page where you can go for full details:

Victoria’s  ‘Growing in the City’ initiative is all about enhancing our local, urban food systems: It’s about finding ways to connect more people with space to grow more food, on public and private land. It’s about finding ways to encourage small-scale urban agriculture and to begin thinking differently about how we manage some of our City-owned land, so we can work together to build the skills, knowledge and resources needed to produce more food in our beautiful and already delicious City.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic earlier this summer. You can view the engagement summary here [PDF – 8.5 MB]. What we heard this summer has informed a set of potential changes that we’d now like to hear from you about. You can view the potential changes here: Growing in City Display Boards.pdf [PDF – 1.5 MB]

Share your thoughts about potential changes to community gardens, fruit trees on public land, boulevard gardening and small-scale commercial urban farming.

Please share your thoughts through the online survey. It will be live until January 5, 2016. If you have any questions, please email
