The City of Victoria is looking for ideas about ‘Growing in the City’ and you can help by completing the on-line survey. Follow the links in the text below, excerpted from the City’s flyer.
Known as the ‘banana belt’ of Canada, Victoria has all the ingredients for growing food just about anywhere, and the City is looking at how, and where, to grow more. This summer, all topics related to growing food in the Capital City will be explored. Everything from community gardens and allotment gardens, boulevards and balcony gardens, as well as pilot programs for growing fruit and nut trees are being discussed as part of an effort to increase supply of local, fresh, affordable food, while maximizing and enhancing public space.
